Show us the space
Add your raised beds, in-ground patch, pots—or that sunny strip you keep meaning to do something with.
A practical garden planner that sizes what to grow to your household, fits it to the space you have, and tells you when to start.
No perfect garden required. A few honest answers are enough to turn whatever you’ve got into a proper starting plan.
Add your raised beds, in-ground patch, pots—or that sunny strip you keep meaning to do something with.
Choose the vegetables your household genuinely likes. Quietly leave out the worthy kale nobody is going to eat.
See how much to plant for your household, where each crop could go, what you’ll need, and when to sow or raise it.
This isn’t a generic planting calendar with your name added. It works the amounts and the timing around your household, your space and your corner of Australia or New Zealand. That’s the whole point.
How much to plant for your table, the space each crop needs, and the first job for every crop.
Every crop given a home, with peak use, spare space and sensible catch crops.
See when each crop occupies a bed and what moves into the space after it clears.
Real plan, deliberately cropped. These are quick glimpses from a Patch Partner plan.
The starter plan isn’t quietly disappearing behind a paywall later. How much to plant, your first sowing actions, a shopping list and a basic bed layout stay free—forever.
I’m also building an optional paid layer for gardeners who want the whole season joined up. Not a big software launch; just the next useful bit, still shaped by real gardeners. Add your email for one heads-up when it opens.
NZ$39/yearFounding gardener rate, locked in for life. The standard rate will be NZ$59/year when it opens later this spring.
No spam and no dramatic launch sequence. Just one heads-up.
I could find plenty telling me when to sow. Nothing joined that up with how much our family might actually eat, whether it would all fit, or what could use the space next.
The Patch Partner is my attempt to bring those decisions together. It’s an early, slightly muddy beta being shaped with real gardeners—which is why honest feedback is so useful now.
“I wanted something a bit cleverer than my Saturday-morning combination of seed packets, browser tabs and optimism.”— from the notebook that started this.
You’ll get how-much-to-plant amounts for your household, a bed-by-bed layout, a 12-month timeline, succession suggestions, a shopping list, and a preview of the sowing reminders.
The “how much to plant” calculator, first sowing actions, shopping list and basic layout stay free forever. Season-long features—succession planning, weekly reminders and a saved, editable plan—will become an optional founding-gardener plan later this spring.
Your location shapes the timing. The Patch Partner is built for Australian and New Zealand growing conditions rather than flipping dates from a Northern Hemisphere calendar.
Yes. Add raised beds, in-ground beds, pots and useful corners, along with their size and sun. The plan works with the patch you have.
Rough measurements are useful, but you don’t need surveyor-level accuracy. A tape measure, a few minutes outside and your best estimate will do.
Then take the plan outside and get them properly muddy. Honest feedback is very welcome while the founding beta is being shaped.
